Based in Gosport, Hampshire, The Stokes Bay Strummers are a ukulele group that meets up to play for fun and raise much needed funds for local charities. The founding members met at a ukulele course at the Gosport Discovery Centre in 2011 and the group has gone from strength to strength ever since.

The Stokes Bay Strummers now practice at St Faiths Community Centre (Lowry room) in Lee on Solent - 19:30 (till 21:00) on Tuesday evenings.

Since COVID / lockdown the group has re-established and growing well. We welcome new ukulele playing / singing members, so if you are a new or experienced ukulele player with a good singing voice why not get in touch (see our "Home" page) and come and attend one of our sessions.
Over the years, the Strummers have played hundreds of concerts, raising funds for various charities. The main aim is to give audiences a good time and to encourage their participation. If you would like the Strummers to play for you then a donation to this year's nominated charity is requested.
So far, the Strummers have played well over 500 gigs and raised in excess of £33,000 for local charities.
The Strummers have voted to continue supporting 'St Faith's Hub' for 2025.
St Faith's Hub, Tribe Road, Gosport
St Faith's Hub aims to support the community in Leesland, Gosport, one of the most deprived wards in the country. St Faith's church has a very small congregation and low resources (annual income was only £7200 in 2022/23). Despite this they set up the Hub in September 2022. In addition to hosting social events (we played two gigs to the Young at Heart club there this year) they run a food, clothing and toys bank once per month, also offering a hot meal and a warm space. They have funded this with a crowd funder appeal, raising just below £6000. They would like to operate the food/clothing/toys bank weekly, as well as providing more hot food, but need more funds to do so.
