I am a Master student in pure maths at Stockholm University and KTH. Originally from Austria, I did my Bachelor studies in maths and computer science at LMU Munich and my academic interests lie mostly in the intersection of these two disciplines. I am particularly interested in foundations of maths, in particular constructive maths, type theory, functional programming as well as interactive theorem proving, and would like to do research among these topics in the future. Outside of maths, I enjoy doing strength exercises and bouldering as well as programming and configuring my computer (I use NixOS btw :P). I also like to learn foreign languages.
Hey hey, I'm J-B! After studying 4 years engineering and math in France, I started a double degree with KTH to study pure math. I enjoy mostly learning about general relativity, differential geometry, algebraic geometry and algebraic topology. Also I practice a lot of piano and I swim sometimes when I feel that I lose my muscles of working on math too much. I always go for meeting new people and cultures!
I'm a master student in pure mathematics at SU and KTH. I come from Croatia, where I did my bachelors in maths as well. As an analysis and geometry girlie, I like complex analysis and complex geometry, differential geometry, but also applications in astrophysics and cosmology. Outside of maths, I like playing the guitar, singing, dancing, reading, and getting loooong coffees.
I am a master student from Italy, and an exchange student at SU for the fall and spring semester through the Erasmus program. I got my Bachelor degree in mathematics at the University of Augsburg in Germany. In my thesis, I wrote about certain extensions of set theory, and I've been very interested in Logic and foundations since. So far I have particularly enjoyed anything related to algebra, and I want to learn more about type theory and Agda!
I think doing maths with kids is really fun, and I've been teaching kids important cutting edge maths (like how to fairly divide a cake or the best way to draw stars) for five years.
I am a French student of the Joint Master’s Program in Mathematics at KTH and Stockholm University. I am a double degree student with Centrale Nantes, an engineering school in France. My background is more in applied maths (machine learning, optimization), but I am also interested in fundamental maths such as abstract algebra and Galois theory. I have done some research on Graph Neural Network for code verification for Frama-C’s plugin Eva.
Outside of maths, I am a competitive foil fencer, and I love hiking and camping (strange for a scout?). I enjoy playing music (guitar, flute) and singing while cooking.
I am a second year master student at the joint master program between SU and KTH. I am from the Swedish countryside outside of Örebro and have previously studied engineering physics at KTH. I have interests in anything that has to do with biomath and particularly enjoy dynamical systems and evolutionary game theory. In my free time I like reading fiction and taking walks through graveyards. I also take pleasure in fine spirits from time to time (≅ really cheap beer).
I am a second year student of the Joint Master’s Program in Mathematics at KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) and Stockholm University. My education in both Engineering and Mathematics has led me to develop an appreciation for mathematical methods which are of interest in applications, such as Stochastic Differential Equations, Calculus of Variations and Optimal Control. I am also interested in Numerical Methods – in particular those applied to the areas mentioned above. In my free time I play drums and Ultimate Frisbee.
I am a second year master student from Genova, Italy, where I also got my bachelor's in pure mathematics. I will be spending the fall semester at SU on the Erasmus program.
My main interests lie in the more theoretical areas of analysis, especially functional and complex analysis, but I also enjoy topology and (commutative) algebra. I love recreational mathematics and I've been mentoring high school students for math competitions for a few years now. Earlier this year I worked as a substitute math and physics teacher, which was a lot of fun. When I'm not doing math I enjoy reading, hiking and playing the saxophone.
In June 2021, I completed my bachelor's in mathematics, physics, and philosophy at Kalamazoo College (MI). My research interests lie in the union of combinatorial representation theory, geometry invariant theory, algebraic geometry, algebraic topology, and applications to quantum information & computing. I am extremely excited to contribute to the mathematics community through research and pedagogy, and in particular, uplifting underrepresented identities in mathematics. Here are some problems and research projects I have worked on. I am also an organizer of the Hidden Norms Webinar series (check us out)! Outside of math, I enjoy climbing and cooking with my people.
I am a Stockholmer with a background in engineering physics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. In autumn this year (2022) I am excited to go to ETH Zürich for an exchange semester. So far my research interests lie within the intersection of analysis and mathematical physics, but I am also excited to learn more about category theory, algebraic topology and probability theory. Besides studying I enjoy running and listening/dancing to music.
I am a first-year master’s student in the joint mathematics program at Stockholm University and KTH, with a background in applied mathematics at KTH. My interests lie in algebra broadly, and in its applications to other fields of mathematics such as analysis and topology. I also like teaching mathematics, something I do at KTH where I work as a TA. Besides my studies I enjoy both playing and listening to music, cooking, any form of physical exercise, a good book, and good company from friends and family.
I am a second year student in the Joint Master’s program in mathematics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University. I graduated in December 2020 from the University of Johannesburg with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Pure Mathematics. My research interests are very broad, they include Category theory, Algebraic Geometry, Differential and Algebraic Topology among others. I enjoy going for walks, looking at art, reading novels and listening to music. While it’s hard to choose, I would say that my top three books are “The Girl who saved the King of Sweden” by Jonas Jonasson, “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern and “1984” by George Orwell.
