Sauna is an integral part of Finnish culture and social life, with roles as a place for bonding, socializing and communality, as well as for retreat, solicity and calming-down - and at least since the conception of Stochastic Sauna workshops, as a place for doing math!
The Finnish sauna culture was added in 2020 to the UNESCO world heritage list. Our workshop series will perhaps be next in turn. While waiting for that, we invite all interested to sauna on Thursday at 17-20 at Villa Järvelä, Turku's foremost public sauna-bathing site:
Entrance is paid by the organisers, but please indicate your interest in the registration form.
It's a public outdoor facility. Own swimsuit and towel are mandatory; rubber sandals are recommended.
For local public transports, see www.foli.fi. Instructions will also be given after the talks on Thursday.
