Crop Calendar shows when is the best growing timing for the main crops in St. Kitts and Nevis. The data is based on local field trial done by Taiwan Technical Mission and other researches.
Crop Coefficient are properties of plants used in predicting evapotranspiration (ET). Since crop evaporation is directly linked with crop water utilization, it could be seen as a parameter to understand the water needs of the crops.
With this data, we could understand the water requirement for different crops during different growth stages. Farmers could use this information to check when is the water critical stage of certain crop in order to maintain yield performance.
This map is based on soil testing results done by Taiwan Technical Mission, the pictures show the most-suitable planting site for each crop in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Noted: The most-suitable planting site means that kind of crop grows best on those sites. Other sites could still be used to grow the crop and get good yield under good soil management.
