2024 "Italian Youth for Innovation" (IYI) Challenge
The first edition of the “Italian Youth for Innovation” Challenge aims to showcase excellence in student-led innovation in higher education across Italy, with a particular focus on Climate Action and its intersection with Technologies and AI. The Challenge will increase the visibility of emerging youth enterprises focusing on digital technologies and AI aimed at the promotion of the Agenda 2030 on campus.
Please note that the challenge is fully managed by Next Level Productions NYC & Curate Purpose and financially sponsored by Freedom View Coalition. The challenge is no way associated with the United Nations Association of Italy.
Apply by 20 April 2024!
In order to apply to the challenge, candidates should fill the application form and:
Submit a video of maximum 60 seconds describing their project, their contribution to the Agenda 2030 and the material impact on their institution’s sustainability.
Send the Curriculum Vitae/Resumè and any supporting material related to your project
Shortlisted candidates might be invited for an online interview and required to submit further information regarding their projects on 20 April 2024. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Prize
Each winning project will be awarded one (1) round-trip ticket to New York City from Rome, Italy, lodging in Manhattan for 3 nights and fixed per-diem reimbursement to be in New York City on May 7–10 2024 and to speak at the Side Event to the 9th Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals at the United Nations Headquarters (UNHQ).
Eligibility
Candidates must satisfy the following criteria to be eligible:
Be between 21 and 28 years old;
Possess an Italian citizenship;
Be a current undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student in a recognized higher education institution in Italy;
Have a proficient level in English (both written and spoken).
Selection Criteria
The project must:
be already in operation in at least 1 campus
contribute to the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as identified by one or more indicators (for more information, consult the full list)
have tangible and quantifiable impact on the university community and its sustainability performance
be aligned with the STI Forum values.
