What We Do
We are a community doing its best to practice the works of mercy. (See left)
The Columbia Catholic Workers currently operate St. Francis House of Hospitality where breakfast, supper, showers and laundry are available to all. We also distribute clothing, blankets and personal care items to those in need. We are currently hosting a refugee family from Afghanistan in another house that we own near Boone Hospital.
We and our amazing volunteers have also operated Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen for 40years - currently at 1509 Ashley Street, behind the power plant on business loop
We operate and depend on donations of all kinds. The community of Columbia is what makes this house work! Although some Catholic Workers donate part of their salary, we could not provide the hospitality we do without your help.
