It’s great that I’m able to go out and play gigs again pretty regularly, and it’s great seeing people in person again. When I’m on break though and I have stepped away from the stage, please don’t go out of your way to find me so that you can tell me I can take off my “virtue signal.” (Yes, this happened.)

Ok, for one thing, a musician’s job is to entertain you. The last thing you should be doing is trying to put the musician in a bad mood. Second, wearing a mask is something I do to protect the people around me. It’s something we should all do to protect each other.

Look, wear it or not, I guess that’s your choice because “this is America.” But when you’ve crossed the line by actively encouraging others to take off their masks, YOU ARE ACTING LIKE A DOMESTIC TERRORIST.
