Honesty, Transparency, and Accountability
Integrity means doing the right thing even when no one is watching. In my 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force this was a core value I lived by daily, and it is one that I will continue to uphold as a member of the Rocky River Board of Education. For me, integrity in our schools means being transparent with the community about decisions, priorities, and spending. That’s why, as a private citizen, I began recording and publishing board of education meetings on my own YouTube channel and dedicated Facebook page, making them more accessible to the community. Taxpayer money should be used wisely, with clear and accessible reporting on where it goes and why. Parents, educators, and community members deserve to trust that board decisions are made with fairness and honesty and not hidden agendas. Integrity also means holding ourselves to the highest ethical standards and ensuring every student receives the same quality education no matter their background or circumstances.
Putting Others Before Self
The military value of service before self is one I carry deeply into civilian life. My service to this community is rooted in a commitment to listen, learn, and advocate for the best interests of our children and schools. With two young daughters in the district and a wife who is an educator, I understand both the student and teacher perspectives. My experiences living in and learning from school systems across the country have given me insight into best practices that could benefit Rocky River. I will work to ensure open communication between the Board, administration, and community members (the "triad") so that all voices are heard and respected. My focus is not on personal recognition but on creating a strong, supportive environment where students, teachers, and families can thrive.
Continuous Growth and High Standards
In the Air Force, excellence in all we do was more than a motto, it was an expectation. I believe the same should be true for our schools. Excellence means refusing to settle for good enough and always seeking ways to improve, innovate, and strengthen our district. I bring skills in continuous process improvement (CPI), policy and procedure development, and budget and safety oversight to help our schools operate efficiently while maintaining high educational standards. Our district already has much to be proud of, but there is always room to grow whether it be in academic achievement, student support services, or community engagement. My goal is to ensure Rocky River schools prepare all students for success, both in the classroom and in life.
