Working for a pharmaceutical distributor for almost eight years, Steve gained wide exposure to the entire wholesale business, from purchasing, operations, compliance, and pricing, to sales and promotions. This exposed him to their unique perspective, giving him the ability to identify key value drivers and offer high quality, innovative, and practical solutions. As a wholesaler, Steven worked with group purchasing organizations, pharmacy buying groups, and independent pharmacies in multiple roles. Steven also worked with large and small Brand Rx, Generics, consumer health, medical device, and DME manufacturers/suppliers as their customer, giving him a front row view of many different sales/account management styles.
As an executive for pharmaceutical manufacturers for over eleven years, Steven expanded his perspective by specializing in strategy, operations, analytics, and partnership. Steven has led and participated in cross-functional teams to forge strategies to improve patient access, launch new products, evaluate potential acquisitions, assess implications of reformulations, and manage loss of exclusivity. He has chaired six cross-functional teams. Steven led the development of a next-generation distribution performance program for wholesalers, with performance metrics designed to maximize efficiencies. He developed enhanced channel monitoring methods, new channel inventory estimations, and innovative product launch strategies. Steven also spearheaded the creation of a distribution program for downstream customers to directly purchase products, designed to increase channel visibility, diversify the direct-purchasing customer base, and increase the organization's influence in the downstream channel. Steven has launched multiple products, including those in retail pharmacies as well as in the specialty / rare disease space.
As a result of his experience, Steven has deep connections and relationships throughout pharmaceutical industry and supply chain. He has been recognized as a leader in the industry, frequently speaking at industry conferences on topics such as fee-for-service agreements, multi-channel marketing, competitive intelligence, forecasting & analytics, product launch, contracting, specialty network design, and the evolving distribution channel.
Steven graduated from Cornell University, and continues to have a "hungry brain." He believes that people never stop learning.Â
