Donor Spotlight

Our daughter had been going to overnight camp in the summer with friends since she was ten. She asked to be sent to a paleontology camp the year she was turning sixteen. I got online and found Sternberg museum paleo camps. The time frame worked for an overseas trip to visit with family and the price for camp was extremely reasonable. My husband, Alese and myself were happy. When we brought Alese to camp all the students were nervous, I think only one student at the time was an alumni. When we came to pick up our daughter she was transformed. She was more mature, ecstatic about camp, and had learned so much about real world paleontology. From Alese’s speaking to us her instructor David Levering had been an inspiration with his fun loving and supportive informative views on science and in particular paleontology our daughters passion was ignited. Since then with David’s support and the wonderful program he supports we’ve seen our daughter take on various challenges that camp, training and teaching have exposed her to and she has risen to the challenges. As parents we couldn’t be more thrilled or satisfied with the lessons our daughter has learned. I’m excited to support Sternberg museum camps so that other students who are interested can get the same type of support for their science related passion!
