What are Risk Factors?
Risk Factors in our campaign are factors that can lead to more negative outcomes, or more specifically factors that can cause more stress/anxiety.
Risk Factors can include but are not limited to:
Isolation
Overthinking
Genetics
Isolation can lead to more negative results such as heightened stress and anixety. A reason for isolation can be overthinking, which is the killer of a good mood. Overthinking can lead to many negative thoughts and heightened anxiety. Which can cause people to isolated, creating a gruesome cycle which can be hard to beat. Anxiety can also be genetic, and inherited from parents or close family members. However, all of these risk factors can be combated.
What are Protective Factors?
Protective factors in our campaign are factors that can lead to less negative outcomes, or more specifically improve stress/anxiety.
Protective Factors can include but are not limited to:
Staying Informed
Practicing Mindfulness
Recognizing stress/anxiety
Staying informed is a great Protective Factor that can combat large amounts of anxiety and stress. When you know what is causing your body to react a certain way, it makes it easier to understand how to deal with it. Practicing Mindfulness can also help with anxiety because it aides in keeping you grounded and safe. Lastly, being able to recognize anxiety/stress will not only help you but can also help others.
Why is it important to know about Risk and Protective Factors?
Staying informed on Risk and Protective Factors is very important because it can help you understand and fight stress. Knowing that some factors may negatively impact you can teach you to avoid those factors, and learn to fight them. Which is exactly what Protective Factors do, help you fight Risk Factors. Therefore, staying informed about yourself can help you handle stress and anxiety.
