My name is Andrea Durrant. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Brigham Young University. Upon graduation I taught 1st grade in Alpine School District and loved every minute of it. When I left teaching to stay home with my first child I missed having my own classroom and teaching each day. As a result I chose to start teaching preschool from my home. I am grateful to be able to be doing what I love while still being home with my children. I have been teaching preschool from my home for 12 years and find great satisfaction in this role. I love the excitement and enthusiasm of my preschoolers and I love seeing their eyes light up as we discover and learn together.
The goal of Stepping Stones preschool is to prepare children socially and academically for kindergarten. Preschool is a time of discovery and I strive to provide a nurturing environment that allows each child to find joy and confidence in learning. I believe that children learn best when they are actively involved and having fun. We are involved daily in realistic, hands on activities that allow us to learn and grow!
At Stepping Stones Preschool I encourage children's creativity, curiosity, and excitement for learning. Children participate in fun activities that engage all of their senses. I integrate thematic teaching into my curriculum and use centers to reinforce learning.
