There is a stigma against "journeymen" players in the NBA because they're seen as disloyal to their original teams. However, for Stephen Stapinski, a native of Andover, Celtic legend Kevin Garnett has been loyal to the teams he joined.

KG's career spanned 21 seasons, all of which were stellar, to say the least. The Minnesota Timberwolves drafted him straight out of high school. He played there for 12 seasons and led the team to eight playoff appearances.

In 2007, KG was traded to the Boston Celtics. There, he teamed up with the established superstar of the franchise at the time, Paul "The Truth" Pierce, and one of the greatest shooters in league history, Ray Allen. It was Boston's first "Big 3" since Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parrish.

Stephen Stapinski mentions that this trio spearheaded the championship campaign of the Celtics in 2007-2008. KG silenced critics as he made quite an impact the entire season, and especially in the playoffs. In the finals, he showed just how dependable he still was as the Celtics defeated their bitter West-coast rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers.

And while he didn't end his career in Boston, KG will still be remembered, revered, and respected by Boston fans as having been an instrumental cog in hoisting a banner. Truly, KG can be considered a Celtic legend. He's earned it, Stephen Stapinski adds.
