KUALA LUMPUR, 2 July 2025 — On Tuesday, 1 July 2025, the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee’s Civil Practice and Court Liaison Committee hosted a heartfelt Welcome and Farewell Luncheon in honour of the Judges and Judicial Commissioners of the Kuala Lumpur High Court. Held at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex, the event brought together members of the judiciary and the legal community for a meaningful afternoon of appreciation and reflection.
Held in the dignified setting of the court, the luncheon provided a meaningful platform to strengthen ties, comradeship and mutual respect between the Bench and the Bar. In his address, KLBC Chairman Nimalan Devaraja underscored the importance of ongoing professional collaboration in upholding the rule of law and maintaining the integrity of the judicial system.
This event is part of the KLBC’s continued commitment to cultivating strong ties between the legal profession and the courts, reinforcing a shared commitment to justice and service.
Kuala Lumpur, 25 June 2025 – The Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee (KLBC) successfully organised an in-person Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session titled “Trust for Estate Planning” on Tuesday, 24 June 2025 at the KL Bar Auditorium.
The session was led by Mr. Lim Kien Chai, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and Past President of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia. With extensive experience in financial governance and estate advisory, Mr. Lim delivered a comprehensive presentation. Attendees gained practical insights and clear guidance on navigating Malaysia’s trust framework.
KLBC expressed sincere appreciation for the participation of legal and corporate attendees, recognising their commitment to gaining deeper insight into trust law and responsible estate planning.
Looking ahead, KLBC invites members of the Bar, industry professionals, and interested parties to join its upcoming events in Quarter 3 and Quarter 4 of 2025.

The Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee is pleased to announce that MyBar Games 2025 will be held on 8 and 9 August 2025 in Kuala Lumpur.
The MyBar Games is an annual national sporting event under the Malaysian Bar that brings together lawyers and pupils-in-chambers from across the country. The My Bar Games promote wellness, unity, and professional camaraderie through a wide range of 18 competitive sports, including football, badminton, golf, swimming, netball, pickleball, and e-sports.
We invite all law firms to support the event by participating as a sponsor of the same. By participating as a sponsor, law firms will benefit from brand exposure through banners, merchandise, digital platforms, and on-site engagement.
