The trainer track is set up for all teaching staff involved in the STEP programme of 2024-2025. Call it an exchange programme within an exchange programme: in four meetings (two meetings in advance, and two within the exchange week) we meet, talk, and cover different aspects of our common goal, training our students to become the teachers of tomorrow. During the closing session of the exchange week, we share our thoughts and experiences with the participating students.

Monday November 18, 3.30-5 pm, Zoom meeting (link in e-mail)
Preparation: Information on your educational context and pedagogical approach
Moderator: Arnoud Aardema (head of education Radboud Teachers Academy)
During this online meeting, we will learn more about each other's educational context by comparing three aspects: 1) the way secondary and higher education is structured, 2) the different paths students can take to become a teacher, and 3) which of these paths are available at our own institute. When time allows, we will discuss each of our pedagogical approaches towards students. What is our take on the learning process students go through and how students need to be taught or guided through this learning process? Are there contextual differences, or similarities?
Monday December 9, 3.30-5 pm, Zoom meeting (link in e-mail)
Preparation: Please fill out this padlet (password in e-mail)
Moderators: Hedwig de Krosse and Gisbert van Ginkel
In this online meeting, we will talk about what characterizes each of our collaborations with secondary schools (or other places students do their in-service training). We will identify which factors contribute to a successful collaboration and discuss how these factors are related to our own context.

Preparation: The concept version of the application for the next edition
Moderator: Esmée Bruggink
On Wednesday during the exchange week, we will take the time to look at the concept version of the application for the next edition of STEP, prepared for by Britta. The goal of this meeting is to work towards a final version that we can submit at the end of January.
Thursday January 16, 1-2.30 pm, MM 03.650
Preparation: None
Moderators: Tirsa Guelen-Satink and Esmée Bruggink
In this live meeting, we will reflect on our experiences during the exchange week. The first focus wil be on aspects we consider useful or valuable, aspects that we would like to be a part of future exchanges. The second focus will be on a more personal level. During the closing session, input from this session can be used to share our experiences with the students.
After the exchange week, there will be opportunity for both the students and teacher trainers involved to evaluate the course in its entirety. The outcome of these evaluations will be taken into account for the next edition.
