Through our drone piloting and racing program, each participant learns how to pilot professional-grade drones skillfully and safely. Through a fun and intensive program, each student will learn the fundamentals of aerodynamics, the physics behind drone flight, and how to pilot in first-person and third-person views. As the program continues, students test their skills as they fly various missions and race for the fastest time through an obstacle course. The program concludes with an introduction to careers in the drone industry and resources to become an FAA-certified pilot.
This program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the concepts, principles, and techniques required to pilot drones for enjoyment and career opportunities. With the wide acceptance and growing need for drones across many different industries, the number of job opportunities requiring this unique skill set is rapidly increasing. Professional Drone Pilots are needed for aerial photography, mapping, aerial monitoring, inspection, surveillance, sports events, and search and rescue missions.

Drone pilots are responsible for operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). They may be tasked with flying drones over a variety of different locations and situations, collecting data or images that can later be used by other individuals or organizations. Drone pilots must know how to properly operate their drone’s controls while always keeping track of its location. This requires a great deal of attention to detail as well as quick thinking in emergency situations. Commercial drone pilots serve industries like insurance, agriculture, and media, making drone piloting missions high in variety and potential profit. The average salary of a drone pilot in the U.S. is 79k.
