Week 1:
Today I began working on my jump n' run game, which I have decided to call "Spike Escape." I started by importing the designated images to serve as my character and obstacles. I then started to design the first level, which is a simple layout with a few spikes scattered throughout to serve as obstacles. I also added a start and end point, as well as some background elements to give the level some visual interest. I brainstormed a lot to make the game as enjoyable as possible.Â
Week 2:
I continued working on level 1 today, adding in some additional challenges such as platforms that move horizontally back and forth. I also added a few collectibles that the player can pick up for points. I tested the level a few times to make sure it was functioning properly and made some adjustments as needed. I moved on to designing level 2 today. This level is slightly more challenging than the first, with more obstacles and more complex platforming sections. This was a difficult task as I wanted to ensure that each level had a good balance of difficulty and fun.
Week 3:
I finished levels 3-5 and started working on level 6 and 7, adding more complex obstacles as I went along. This level is the longest and most challenging of all the levels so far, with a number of difficult platforming sections. I completed both levels and began work on the final level, level 8. This level is somewhat shorter than the previous ones, as it congratulates the player on completing the game.
Week 4:
I completed the final touches on the game and I spent most days playtesting the entire game and making any necessary adjustments. I completed the final touches on the game and uploaded it to Scratch. I am now ready to share it with others and see how they enjoy it!
Week 5:
Today, I shared my game with friends and family and received great feedback. They all enjoyed playing the game and appreciated the effort I put into creating each level. Overall, creating this platform game was a challenging but rewarding experience. I learned a lot about Scratch programming and I am already looking forward to creating my next game!
