David Budai, is the CTE TOSA for the Coachella Valley Unified School District. David received his M.S. and B.S. degrees in Anthropology and Biology from The University of New Mexico. David was selected as the 2017 Bureau of Land Management’s Teacher on the Public Lands (TOPL).  As the 2017 TOPL, David was tasked with dinosaur bones, footprints, and trackways found in the Canyon Country District (Moab Field Office, Utah) while creating the first national Girl Scout Paleontology patch. This patch is available to all Girl Scouts and only requires the completion of paleontology lessons that teach site stewardship, monitoring, and site-based science. David has written or co-written numerous research articles in the fields of archaeology, paleontology, and terrestrial vertebrate zoology.
