Hello, my name is Arum Sitoula.
I am a high school student currently living in South Korea, from an immigrant family, ethnically tied to Nepal. As a student with a strong interest in medicine, I have long felt a responsibility to contribute to Nepal’s future healthcare system. This motivation is deeply personal. Growing up, I witnessed members of my own family struggle with illness and delayed access to medical care, experiences that left a lasting impression on how fragile health systems can be when resources, specialists, or early intervention are limited.
Initially, I viewed these challenges primarily through a medical lens. However, as I learned more, I came to understand that healthcare outcomes are shaped long before a patient ever enters a hospital. The strength of a medical system is closely tied to the strength of its education system. Without early access to science education, mentorship, and opportunities to develop critical thinking, it becomes difficult for a country to train the next generation of doctors, researchers, and engineers.
This realization led me to found STEMPATH Nepal. I believe that meaningful development cannot occur if future generations are not equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to sustain it. By strengthening access to STEM and health-related education at an early stage, I hope to support students in building the foundations necessary to pursue careers that can contribute to Nepal’s long-term progress in healthcare, science, and innovation.
As Founder, I work to translate this belief into action through educational programs, mentorship, and partnerships that are grounded, realistic, and focused on lasting impact.
Hello, my name is Suyuna Sitoula.
I am a high school student currently living in South Korea, with strong personal and cultural ties to Nepal. Within STEMPATH Nepal, my role is focused on strategy, communication, and outreach ensuring that the project is visible, credible, and able to connect with the organizations and communities it aims to serve.
As the Head of Business Administration and Communications I am responsible for shaping how STEMPATH Nepal is presented to external stakeholders, including NGOs, schools, and educational partners. My work centers on clearly communicating the challenges within Nepal’s education system, organizing outreach efforts, and positioning the organization as a reliable partner for collaboration and support.
A key part of my role involves building connections. I work to identify NGOs and educational organizations aligned with our mission, initiate communication, and help create pathways for collaboration. At the same time, I support communication with schools and students in Nepal to ensure that outreach and partnerships are grounded in real needs rather than assumptions.
I approach this role with the belief that impact depends on visibility and structure. Strong initiatives fail when they are not seen, understood, or trusted. Through strategic messaging, targeted outreach, and consistent communication, my goal is to help STEMPATH Nepal attract meaningful partnerships and expand access to educational opportunities for students across Nepal.
STEMPATH Nepal is a student-led, non-profit education initiative dedicated to expanding equitable access to STEM and health-related learning for students across Nepal. Our work is driven by care, responsibility, and long-term impact.
We welcome individuals who are motivated by purpose rather than recognition, and who value meaningful contribution over titles. All roles within STEMPATH Nepal require commitment, integrity, and respect for the communities we serve.
