You've completed the online virtual interview session what do you do now?
Plan and schedule your study time.
Step 1 - As mentioned during the online interview session, we recommend utilizing the daily practice planner and building on your current understanding by completing a STEM practice assessment in your College major, or current work project topic each of 4 days out of the 7 day week. You can easily accomplish this by picking 4 days on the "Daily Practice Planner" (click this link or the one located below) and filling in the start and end times ONLY for each of the 4 days you choose. (remember 2-hour time blocks are being used). Then click the submit button located at the bottom of the form. Do not click the checkboxes when you are first entering the times, checkboxes are only to be clicked after you have finished the practice session on the specific day and end time you scheduled. If you have any questions click here Contact Us and follow the prompts to select "Exam Question Support". Then in the "Describe Your Feedback" box, type "Daily Practice Planner support" and type your question. Once you have finished typing your question in the "Describe Your Feedback" box, follow the prompts to enter your name, etc., and click the submit button.
Note:(Save this Link "Daily Practice Planner" for the planner. Copy it to someplace it can easily be found after each practice exam is taken. Ex: text it to yourself or copy and paste it into a Word doc. and save the document in a folder labeled STEM PREP, or save the link to this website.)
Step 2 - Once you have completed a practice exam, use the saved link to immediately open the "Daily Practice Planner". On the planner, click the "YES" box for that day, then click the submit button. Next, open the appropriate 5-10 minute Comprehension Checklist link complete and submit it. (Comprehension Checklist links for days 1 through 4 are located here). They are numbered. Complete Checklist #1 after doing the first Practice Exam, Checklist #2 after doing the second Practice Exam, Checklist #3 after doing the third Practice Exam, and Checklist#4 after doing the fourth Practice Exam. This will allow us to customize and target the support we provide to the exact areas you need it, in real time while you're practicing for the HESI!
Note:(If you were unable to do a practice exam on your selected day, by the selected end time, due to unforeseen circumstances, open the planner, click the "NO" box on that day, and in the comments of the same day write a brief sentence on what was done to make up the missed practice session, and/or to prevent missing a scheduled practice session moving forward. Then click submit. This will allow us to provide support if there are any challenges regarding the time management of your plan to successfully take the HESI. And provide suggestions to the applicant in real-time before the scheduled HESI, when there is still time to implement solutions!)
Are your current assessment preparation activities maximizing your ability to score well on the HESI assessment?
Here at IK Tutor, our STEM support program consists of a technology-based Self-learning system. Here on our HESI webpage, we provide tips and recommendations aimed at maximizing the benefits of your assessment preparation activities, and prior knowledge of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math with effective and insightful recommendations and virtual tools developed through years of guiding applicants just like you in successfully preparing for the course exams, and/or work project. See some of our recommendations and additional tools below:
Practice, practice, practice! - Use your references and/or request references through our Contact Us page. For a list of sites that provide practice exam questions. Click on the following link Contact Us to request resources. Select from the list of resources provided. You can locate and download practice exams from some of the sites, or copy the direct exam links from pages of those sites to a Word document and save it in a folder, (get 4 or 5 full STEM practice exams). You then have enough exams to do one each day for four or five days a week leading up to your exam date or project application. This will do wonders in making your preparation more effective, by targeting content areas that need more review, while also providing time to utilize the virtual support from IK's STEM Friend Self-learning program to improve in those targeted areas. It's a great confidence and score booster!

Are you utilizing STEM Friend's Virtual STEM support resources to improve your accuracy (number of correct answers) and speed?
Utilize all available resources. Your college exam or work project only allows a fixed amount of time to complete it. This which means you have to pace yourself accordingly when practicing. IK's STEM Friend Self-learning system on this website has a unique virtual support component that enables our applicants to get fully worked solutions to those practice problems that are stumping them. In real time! During each 4 - 5 day period, before the exam date, or interim project deadline when you still have time to apply and learn the information on the practice exams!
Support is configured in a way that empowers our applicants, who participate, to move through practice exams faster and faster each time they practice, accelerating their improvement rate. It can also increase the number of questions they answer correctly on the actual assessment exam and help them answer more questions faster. This can effectively improve speed and accuracy. Talk about score boosters!
The following are additional recommended activities that can help in a secondary way to maximize your ability to score well or do well on the exam and/or project. They fall under the umbrella of good study practices:
When preparing by taking practice exams:
Take it in a quiet space where you won't be disturbed for the 2-hour duration of the practice session.
Have your references, i.e. conversions, and other study guide information close by for quick reference. Click this Conversions factors formula and more link for useful HESI assessment study references.
Have 2 pencils, scrap paper, the timer on your cell phone, and a calculator with you when doing practice exams.
Virtual support, when implemented in combination with key social media components, can be extremely beneficial in providing large groups of people access to different parts of a library of information. See an example of how it supports our applicants below.
If you are an applicant, and while doing a practice exam, come across a question you don’t remember how to answer. You don’t stop! Instead, stay calm and simply take a picture of the question with your phone or screenshot it, paste it to an open Word document, and go to the next question you know how to answer. After completing the practice exam and submitting the Comprehension checklist, you would then go to the "Contact Us" section of this website and following the prompts, you would select "Exam Question Support" and use the "File Upload" option to submit the pics of the missed questions. We will respond with a list of recommended videos, from this website's Video Library, that demonstrate how to solve the problems that you submitted.
If after viewing the recommended videos, it is not clear how to answer the question, our applicants can go to the "Contact Us" section of this website and follow the prompts to select "Exam Question Support" and enter "additional support" in the "Describe Your Feedback" box, then press the submit button. The applicant will receive an emailed invitation to the next online HESI session and have questions explained live.
Video Library
Our applicants are also able to scroll through the "Video library" on this site at any time on their own to review how to answer specific types of HESI math questions.
See the "Video library" on the next page of this website. Applicants are encouraged to submit a pic of the question through the "Contact Us" page if they don't see the types of questions they are looking for in the "Video library". By going to the "Contact Us" section of this website, following the prompts to select "Exam Question Support" and using the "File Upload" option to submit the pics. In addition to entering a brief comment in the "Describe Your Feedback" box. In this case, we will promptly add a fully worked solution for the submitted question to our "Video library".
