Hello and welcome to the STEM Book Club website! We're all about diving into the fascinating world of STEM through books, movies, and research. If you're thinking about joining us, please go to the admission tab.
If you have any questions just shoot an email to stembookclub@uw.edu! Also check out our Instagram!
Here, you'll find in-depth, no heavy spoiler reviews of the books, movies, and research we've explored. Our goal is to (1) catalog the great reads we've enjoyed and (2) inspire you to pick up something new that piques your interest. If you read or watch one thing because of this website, we have fulfilled our mission!
Feel free to click on the tabs at the top of the page or the images below to check out our reviews. We hope you enjoy your visit and keep the curiosity alive!
Every category on our site follows the same clear structure to keep things simple. Here's how it works:
Image: On the left, you'll see an image of the book, movie, or paper. Clicking on this image will take you to an Amazon link, IMDb page, or research article, respectively. If you encounter any issues, please contact us at our club email.
Review: On the right, you'll find the review. It starts with the title of the work in bold, followed by the author and genre in parentheses (or podcast information if applicable). Below this, you'll see the club's rating of the book or movie (research articles don’t have ratings) and an in-depth analysis.
Theme: The italicized part of the review highlights the central theme or moral of the book or movie.
Here's a template of a typical entry for easy reference:
Do you want to know what's next on our list? Do you want to recommend a book? To the right you can find our next books along with our club email to send us a request!
