• Be widely portable to be moved from town to town
• Produce a sufficient amount of electricity for a whole town's energy consumption
• Reliably produce electricity in a variety of conditions and environments
• Not require connections to the grid or electrical infrastructure
• Contain a means for storing the produced electricity like batteries
• Consider economics for low costs
• Be simple enough for a team of trained locals to conduct maintenance
• Be durable enough to last a long time
• Provide electricity that can be transferred through a standard power outlet
