PLTW, or Project Lead The Way, is a nonprofit organization that develops a STEM curriculum for elementary, middle and high school. S stands for science, T stands for technology, E stands for engineering and M stands for Math. Engineering is the application of knowledge in the form of science, math, and empirical evidence, to the innovation, design, construction, operation and maintenance of structures, machines, materials, devices, systems, processes, and organizations. An engineer finds out how things work and how to apply scientific inventions into practical uses. A portfolio is where a collections of ones best work and achievements. I am interested in engineering because it seemed like a fun thing to do and because I like figuring out how things work. So far I have used Autodesk Inventor to create parts, drawing, and assembly's. In addition to that I have used Revit to create multiple buildings that have different purposes. I have also done some projects covering different energy sources, and the different types of simple machines, trusses and many other things. I have kept an engineering notebook of the projects I have completed, and of the notes I have taken. Throughout my years taking PLTW courses I have been keeping multiple engineering notebooks and learning more about the fundamentals of engineering along with information from my specialized course, Civil Engineering and Architecture. This all culminated into my last engineering course, Engineering Design and Development where I use all that I have learned from previous courses to solve a real world problem.
