“The Broken Woman” is the result of my search for the beginning of my story, one that shows the destruction, the beauty and hope I still held within me while struggling to adjust to my new life as a divorcee and before walking The Florida National Scenic Trail. The underpainting is a vibrant pink, which I relate to my once loud and bright personality, now hidden under layers of textured paint and scratches. Straight lines that cut the surface into visual fragments accentuate the breakage felt within me.

Staff: Silk flowers and greenery, beads, bells, string, feathers, branch, and found animal skull. Attire: Ready made Kimono style cotton dress, velvet and silk skirts, leather.
