Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage
As Catholics, we serve our Lord Jesus Christ through Holy Mother Church. We trust the power of his resurrection to transform us and those we meet.
Part of our faith tradition is to entrust our ministry to the Holy Mother of God, Full of Grace, specifically in her title as Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage.
This image of our Lady accompanied six successful voyages from Acapulco, Mexico to the Philippines in the Galleon Trade between 1648-1748.
She is a fitting patroness to seafarers to ensure safety for them and their families.
Prayer to our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage
You protected the ships that took you as their patron. I pray for a peaceful and safe voyage. Guard my loved ones whom I have left at home. Protect them from evil and be our consolation in our time of sorrow.
Be the Morning Star that leads me to your Son, Jesus. Lead me to him and give me a safe journey in the midst of the storms in my life. Pray for me, Holy Mother, as I entrust myself and my family to you.
In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you, blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.
