About Us

Our History

Founded in 2008, what originally started as an elaborate Halloween costume turned into the formation of the original Pittsburgh based Ghostbusters Fan Franchise. Starting with only 6 members the "Steel City Ghostbusters" or, "SCGB" as its more affectionately known, have grown by leaps and bounds over the past decade.

After going through several changes in leadership and membership, the current team boasts the strongest roster yet. Now with connections to several other Ghostbusters fan groups across the globe, as well as, several other similar groups in the Pittsburgh region the "SCGB" has become a staple in the Pittsburgh area making annual appearances in the Pittsburgh St. Patrick's Day Parade, Zombie Walk/Fest, Carnegie Science Center 21+ Nights and other annual and non-annual events throughout the greater Pittsburgh Area.

Most recently the group has become a commonly recognized attraction when it comes to charity events, fundraisers and events for children. While still rooted in the comic, movie and pop culture convention circuit, the group believes that they are an intriguing and dynamic way to catch attention and unique photo ops at various events.

Our Mission

Our group seeks to donate our time by attending various events throughout the Southwestern Pennsylvania area, occasionally doing charity work and parades but always trying to make time for fans both young and old.

We strive to provide the community with a unique way to interact with like minded fans and to bring a little bit of that movie magic to life for our younger fans.
