1: Main tools page.
Select the calculation page with the buttons or move to the steam and condensate properties page tapping the bar on the bottomof the page.
Tools pages: All tool pages have three icons on the top app bar. From the left:
Save the input data.
Retrieve the saved input data.
Dele the saved input data.
2: Saturated steam and condensate properties calculations page.
Select the saturated pressure or temperature with the slide or with the arrow buttons. Toggle the input value between presure and temperature with a double tapping the value. You can type the value on the line that show with a tap on the pressure/temperature value.
3: Superheated steam properties page.
Input the steam pressure and temperature to calculate properties. The sub-cooled condensate calculation page is similar. The label of the input box shows the saturated temperature If given steam temperature is below saturated temperature or if given condensate temperature is above saturated temperature.
4: Steam and condensate pipe sizing page.
Select the flow with slider: Superheated steam, Saturated steam, Saturated steam and condensate, Saturated condensate, Sub-cooled condensate. Give pressure or temperature, select with the toggle. Enter steam and/or condensate flow. Flow speeds are calculated for 18 different pipe sizes. Select the used piping schedule from the dropdown. Preset sizes are for: NS Nominal sizes, CS PN16 carbon steel, CS PN25, SS PN16 staineless and SS PN25. You can modify the piping schedules, tap the Dimensions.
5: Pipe schedules page.
Select the pipe schedule you want to change. You can change the name of the schedule, each pipe dimension name and each pipe size (inside diameter). SAVE the schedule. Taping the CLEAR button presets the selected schedule. The nominal size schedule (NS) cannot be changed.
The annulus flow area can be automatically calculated. Write dimension name e.g. 50/88, then clear the dimension input field and the app calculates the flow area. Or write inside/outside diameters e.g. 50/88* to the diameter field and the app calculates the corresponding diameter.
6: Condensate flashing page.
Select the pipe schedule you want to change. You can change the name of the schedule, each pipe dimension name and each pipe size (inside diameter). SAVE the schedule. Taping the CLEAR button presets the selected schedule.
7: Desuperheating page.
Calculates needed coolling water flow to desuperheating the steam.
8: Partial vessel volume calculation page.
Calculates partial volue of a vertical or horizontal vessel. Can be used to calculate flow from a draw-down or raise-up test. Different standard head types can be selected from the dropdownm. The most used commercial head type is pre-selected.
Double tap the result text to save the flow.
9: Perimeter vs diameter page
Depending on the input values calculates pipe dimension, thermal lagging thickness or perimeter of the pipe.
10: Orifice calculation page.
Calculates the steam or condensate flow through an orifice.
11: Dryer calculation page
Calculates paper or board cylinder dryer flows from given values. Flows can be saves adn used in other calculations by double taping the calculated values' text.
Double tap the calculated values on tools calculations to save the flows.
Double tap the flow input boxes to read the saved flows. The returned flow (steam flow, condensate flow or blow-through steam flow) depends on the selected page and input box.
12: Pressure loss page
Pressure loss can be calculated for steam or condensate. Set input values on the page. Piping components can be selected by tapping the various buttons. Tap the component and set the position [m] and the relevant parameters of the component. Save the input values.
13: Annulus pressure loss page
Pressure loss through an annulus can be calculated for steam or condensate. Set input values on the page.
