Do you want to keep your kids away from electronics and actively engage them in exciting, fun, and educational activities?
Then don’t miss this opportunity!!!
Bring out the hidden scientist, researcher, inventor, explorer, artist, discoverer, designer, and innovator in your kid by using our STEAM Enrichment program! We will give your little ones the tools to freely express themselves, further enriching their growth and development.
We truly believe that KNOWLEDGE LEARNED IN A FUN WAY LASTS LONGER
Steam For Minds is a vendor with PCA, SoCal Scholars Academy, and BEST Academy, so your charter funds are accepted.
During each class students will be encouraged to participate in the following activities:
We believe that teaching science through practical experiments is one of the most effective ways for students to understand scientific concepts and processes. Practical, hands-on projects help students visualize how these concepts work in the real world and instill an understanding how they can apply their knowledge in everyday life.
STEAM enrichment program fosters a culture of active exploration, inquiry, and discovery. Simple, cost-effective experiments using everyday materials allow our students to learn by doing. Guiding them through the full scientific method - asking questions, forming hypotheses, testing through hands-on trials, gathering data, and drawing conclusions - builds critical thinking abilities that will serve them throughout their lives.
Embracing more hands-on activities provides students the freedom to explore real-world phenomena, satiating their natural curiosity. These memorable experiences spark passion and reinforce that science learning can be joyful.
Engaging children in science experiments 🧪
Encourages higher level thinking
Teaches children not to accept the status quo and make their own predictions
Fosters an interest and excitement for research
Provides opportunities for failure in a safe environment
Encourages innovative and creative thinking
Teaches children how to work collaboratively
Engineering design projects and challenges are a great way to ignite student interest in STEM. When students tackle an engineering design challenge, they are encouraged to brainstorm, design, build, test, problem solve, troubleshoot, tinker, innovate, and iterate.
What’s more empowering than creating solutions to real-world issues? When students learn about local and global issues and then try to come up with possible solutions, they become independent thinkers and change makers.
A variety of exciting engineering and design challenges we offer to our students create fun, confidence-building opportunities for innovation and invention. Most of these challenges use simple materials (like paper cups, popsicle sticks, drinking straws, index cards, pipe cleaners, etc) and have been carefully designed to create a positive and fun learning experience, helping to bridge the gap between the books and the real world.
By encouraging kids to use their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting, they can gain an understanding and appreciation of the way things work. This can help to prepare them for future success in any endeavour!
Children's imaginations know no bounds, and we are absolutely sure that arts and crafts are a fantastic way to spark their creativity.
Everyone would agree that doing arts and crafts projects benefits kids of all ages.
Children are able to explore their creativity which is all about thinking, investigating, finding, and inventing.
Using a variety of supplies and techniques helps children develop fine motor skills and enhance hand-eye coordination.
Discussing their creation develops children’s literacy and improves their communication skills.
Working on arts and crafts projects even develops children’s emergent mathematical skills, inspires them to think critically, helps kids learn teamwork, collaboration, and social skills.
Craft activities are a great way to build their self-esteem and allow them to express their emotions.
Making art is a wonderful, safe method to learn that it's alright to make errors and that doing things "wrong" may lead to entirely new ideas. It will also encourage children to experiment with other combinations and come up with their own ideas, which is a valuable ability for people of all ages.
But what if your child doesn’t show much interest in doing arts or crafts? No worries, we got you covered! STEAM enrichment program offers non-traditional ways of making art. We are using unusual materials and exciting techniques like painting with droplets, glue and salt, marble paper with shaving cream, tie dye coffee filters, blowing bubbles to create our masterpieces!
In this extremely fun and creative way kids can not only make a piece of art they will be proud of, but learn scientific facts by practically applying this knowledge to real life.
