Our research was centered around three objectives we developed for the purpose of the project:
Objective 1: Develop measurable definitions of accessibility, availability, and equity
Objective 2: Examine and Communicate STEM education data from the Public Education Department (PED) for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years
Objective 3: Investigate the accessibility of learning formats of STEM courses for the 2020-21 school year
Additionally, we created two surveys to collect data needed for some of the analyses we wanted to do. One was distributed to school faculty and staff regarding the impacts of reworking curricula and teaching styles to accommodate for COVID-19. The other was not distributed due to time constraints, but was intended to be shared with students in informal STEM programs and ask them for insights on what they felt they were gaining from these programs.
