STEADY — PRIVACY POLICY

Steady is a personal support space, and we take that seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you provide one, your name. As you use Steady, the entries you choose to make — check-ins, timeline entries, quiz results, journal entries, recovery plan progress, wheel of life scores, and any preferences you set — are stored so they're there for you next time you open the app.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Your information is used solely to provide Steady's features to you — saving your entries, showing your history, and remembering your preferences. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it to advertise to you.

WHO CAN SEE YOUR ENTRIES

Your entries are private to your account. Our database is configured so that only you — authenticated as yourself — can read or write your own data. Steady's team does not routinely browse individual users' entries.

LOCAL STORAGE AND COOKIES

Steady is a mobile app, not a website, so it does not use browser cookies. We do store a small amount of information directly on your device — such as keeping you signed in between visits — using standard mobile storage. We do not currently use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising technologies. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first.

DOCUMENT LOG — DEVICE-ONLY STORAGE

The Document Log feature works differently from the rest of Steady. By default, records you add there — including any text, categories, dates, and photos — are stored only on your device and are never sent to or stored on our servers. This means we cannot see, back up, or recover this content by default, and it will be permanently lost if you lose your device, get a new phone, reinstall Steady, or delete the app. Please keep original copies of anything important elsewhere, particularly records you may need for legal purposes.

Steady also offers an optional "prepare a transfer" tool for moving Document Log records to a new device. If you choose to use it, your records and photos are temporarily uploaded to our servers. Once you restore them on your new device, this temporary copy — including the photos — is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers. If a transfer is prepared but never completed, please delete it manually from the Documents page to remove it from our servers.

THIRD PARTIES

We use Supabase as our backend infrastructure provider to securely store your data. We do not share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their own use.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can download a copy of your data at any time using "Export My Data" on the Account page, and you can permanently delete your account and all associated entries at any time using "Delete Account" in the Danger Zone on the Account page. Both take effect immediately. You're also welcome to contact us directly with any data request or question.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Steady is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll let you know within the app before the changes take effect.
