The Bay is situated close to the sea in what is primarily a rural area.
New developments of villas and apartments are springing up, facilitating improvements to the area's infrastructure and encouraging new businesses that serve the needs of the extra visitors. The area is adminstered by the beladaysi (council) situated in the only sizeable village - Tatlisu (which translates as 'sweet water').

The Bay comprises 17 blocks of 2-storey apartments, 152 apartments in total. The smallest blocks comprise 4 apartments (2 up, 2 down) and the largest has 16 apartments.
Most have stunning views of the sea, and the nearby mountains are clearly visible. Sunsets are magnificent. Apartments have easy access to the 3 large pools (and 2 children's pools) and the Cove (beyond O-block) allows sea bathing.
The site's facilties - gym, games, sauna, etc. are located in a building adjacent to F-block.

Over half the apartments are British owned. Most are holiday homes but a small number of owners live on site throughout the year, and some apartments are rented long-term to local families. Around 25 apartments are owned by Cypriots, a similar number by Russians, and around 15 have owners from various other countries.
There are several groups of owners who use Facetime, Zoom and WhatsApp which are popular because they allow owners to see and talk to one another directly. Others use social media platforms such as Facebook and Google Groups.
Perhaps surprisingly, there isn't a strong sense of 'block identity' even though the nature of a block and its location makes it distinct from others in terms of the benefits its apartments enjoy and the issues they encounter.
Some of us have owned our apartment since it was a plot in a field marked by flags. You can get a flavour of what it was like in those early days from the photos in Gallery
