If you've made it here, you must be signed up for one of my statistics classes! I run them all fairly similarly, so you'll find some general information here and there are subpages for the course specifics.

I’m excited to have you in my Math 119 class this semester. Statistics is one of my favorite classes to teach because it is:

• something we can (and should) use every day,

• one of the fastest growing fields and can get you a great job,

• challenging yet grounded in basic principles.

Before we meet on Canvas (and possibly Zoom after that), I thought I’d tell you a little about myself…

I’m a giant nerd, obviously since I’m a math professor, but I also LOVE sci-fi and fantasy books: I just finished the first two books of the Hyperion series and I'm waiting for the next books in the Kingkiller Chronicles and Gentlemen Bastard series - I highly recommend all three series.

I'm a mom - who is lucky enough that our small home day care did not closed during the pandemic. Those of you who worked / schooled with kids at home, I applaud you. Beckett turned two in February and is increasingly fun to be around.

Lastly, my self-care is all about being active. I play on a few indoor soccer teams in La Mesa and Santee, practice yoga at CorePower, run, hike, and lug around Beckett in a bike trailer while he yells "faster!" at me.
