Partnership Meetings
In the period 16-19 May 2021 we had our first partnership study visit under the project in Luxor, Egypt.
The partners from Romania, Poland, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Egypt had the chance to learn about women involvement in sports in Egypt.We were amazed by the Egyptian sportswomen active participation.Soon we will post the surveys about women and sports in partner countries.
We visited sport clubs in Luxor and played different sport games to strengthen the partnership.
After the visit every partner will organize some sport event in their country for European Move Week 2021 encouraging more women to do sports.
In the period 30 June-3 July 2021 we had the study visit in Gdansk, Poland were we visited the Conrad Judo Students club. Each team presented what they did for European Move Week 2021 in Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Cyprus and Egypt. The hosts presented the situation with women in sports in Poland and we visited together the Energa Stadium in Gdansk built for Euro2012 and played a frindly footbal match to further strengthen the partnership.
In the period 26-28 July 2021 we had the study visit in Karlovo, Bulgaria. The hosts presented the situation with women in sports in Bulgaria and the trainer of the local football club acquainted the group with the challenges and success of Bulgarian sportspeople. The partnership group visited the local Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club where they learned it is the best martial arts sport for women self-defence. We also visited the renovated town stadium and learned about the sport clubs in Karlovo from the head of "Youth and Sport" department. Followed a meeting to Plovidv- European Capital of Culture 2019 with partnership photo in front of the TOGETHER sign to show it is best to unite efforts and exchange ideas for diversifying sport activities in the partnership local communities.
The final project meeting was in Limassol, Cyprus in the period 30 September -03 October 2021 during European Week of Sport 2021.
The Cypriot partner "Blue Cherry Academy for Youth and Adults" hosted a seminar for "Stereotypes and challenges for women in sport" inviting many local and national cypriot sportswomen. The partners carried out the "Partnership bike ride" along the Limassol coastal lane in the project T-shirts further promoting the project. Together the partners rowed the dragon boat of the "Pink Mouflons" Sports Club promoting this sport for women.
