Admiral's Recommendation:
Capture the Flag can be a challenging scenario. It is best played with 6 or more ship crews (3 per side). The basic concept is simple -- go into the opponent's territory, find their flag, and bring it back to your territory and you win. There are very specific rules with regards to placing and capturing the flags. Ships can also "tag" each other and there are rules to understand how to do this and what happens afterwards. And did we mention that each ship gets to command a fleet of drones? This scenario is meant for serious team competitions and is best executed with map aids to allow teams to plan their strategy prior to game execution. We've put together a series of videos to help crews understand the rules and execution of the scenario.
This video explains the basic concepts of CtF, in case you've never played it in real-life before.
This scenario is meant to be run as a serious team competition, and as such, there are distinct phases to the overall event execution. The video covers the following:

Yes, each team not only has an actual flag, but decoys as well. These are placed by different ships on the team, and there are specific mechanics for how the flags and decoys are placed. There is also a defined boundary that the flags/decoys must be kept within.

It's important to know what the flag looks like, how to identify it, how to retrieve it, and know that your ship is carrying it. It's also important to know what happens if your ship is "tagged" and then drops the flag. All these mechanics are important to understand in order to win the mission!

Tagging is an important element of the game, and there are specific mechanics to it. Be sure you understand how this works so you can use to your advantage!

Ships in CtF have a powerful feature - each of them controls their own fleet of drones. The number of drones is variable and is set by the Game Master. Drones can be controlled by the Relay Officer, and can be used for a variety of purposes, including reconnaissance, defense, and offense. It's up to the crew to determine how best to use these valuable assets! They are certainly a force multiplier.
