Admiral's Recommendation:
Chaos of War is a great scenario for an all-out slugfest between fleet teams. There's a specific scoring mechanism that you'll have to pay attention to. You get points for destroying enemy assets, but lose points for allowing your team stuff getting smashed. All-in-all, this is all about running and gunning; shoot first and ask questions later!

This is a player ship vs. player ship scenario. The objective is to destroy your opponents’ ships and other assets. The terrain is randomly generated each time the scenario is run, but it is symmetric: the same things are in each opponent’s territory in the same position. Scores are determined based on the destruction of stations and ships. Loss of specialized personnel (scientists) is also scored against a team.
A minimum of two teams are required to run this scenario. It can be set up for two, three or four teams. Check the schedule to see what competitive permutations are available.
Chaos of War is a scored game. It's important for you to understand how the scoring works so that you will be able to make good decisions on how to win. Read on for a summary explanation. You can also flip through a couple of slides for a summary (see image either above or to the left (depending if you're on mobile or desktop). We also have a tutorial video convering the same info. Scoring
Each asset has a numeric value. Each category of asset has a weight:
Stations: 60%
Player Ship: 30%
NPC Ship: 10%
Each time a player ship is destroyed, its value multiplied by its weight is assessed as a penalty against the player’s team. This assumes that the option to respawn as the same kind of ship is selected. If the game is configured to respawn as a Lindworm (a small, fast missile shooter), then the destruction penalty is only applied once. Wondering what the player ship value is? That depends on what is selected. Examples: Atlantis: 52, Crucible: 45, Phobos: 19. Each team will start with the same type of player ship spawned. Crew skills determine the differences between player ships.
Stations vary in their value based on their size:
Huge: 10
Large: 5
Medium: 3
Small: 1
Each scientist is worth 10 points. Scientists are evaluated in the same category as NPC ships. Maybe you wonder at the value of each NPC ship. It varies depending on the type. Examples: Adder MK5: 7, Phobos M3: 16, Atlantis X23: 50. Game ends at a set time. High score wins.
And may the odds be ever in your favor. ;)
