Our dress code varies for each class. Our instructors will review with their students what they would like worn for class. As a general rule, teachers need to see body lines for proper dance instruction; therefore, leotards, tights and proper shoes are a must. Hair MUST be pulled back off of the face for EVERY class. After you meet with your child’s dance instructor, we ask that you follow the dress code for each and every class.
Watch weeks provide families with the opportunity to view your child’s progress throughout the dance year. On these days, parents/loved ones are invited to come into the studio to watch their dancer’s class. We ask that each dancer bring no more than 2 spectators per class. The dates are as follows:
Nov. 4th-7th, 2024
Feb. 3rd-6th, 2025
Please make every effort to attend class. When a student misses class it not only affects their learning but also the progress of the entire class. If your child needs to miss a class please call the office to let the instructor know (330-837-9061). No refunds will be given for missed classes.
The goal of each instructor is to make every dance class fun, positive, and educational. In order for this to be achieved, students must maintain appropriate classroom behavior. The staff at Starlight School Of Dance will not tolerate any repeated behavior that is disruptive or disrespectful to the instructor or the class as a whole. If a problem occurs during class, the instructor will notify you personally and discuss options for your child. Many times behavior issues arise due to improper class placement. Keeping the lines of communication open with your child’s instructor is vital! If you need to contact your child’s instructor please see Tina for their contact number and e-mail address. Please do not interrupt class to talk with an instructor. We try our best to start and finish our classes on time. Please keep this in mind when meeting with an instructor between classes.
Our dance recital will be held at Washington High School Auditorium. The rehearsal dates will be June 4th at 5th. The show dates are June 6th and 7th. If you decide not to be part of the show please let your teacher and Tina in the office know by Dec. 1, 2024 or you will be responsible to pay for the costumes that are ordered! .

You will also need to purchase a Starlight headband through us for $20.00 and silver pom poms for $30.00. A lot of you will already have the pom poms and headband from last year. If not, you will need to purchase them. You also need to get black pants and black or white tennis shoes on your own to wear in the parade. EVERY class is invited to participate in the parade. It is a lot of fun but not mandatory! The younger students (Creative Movement classes 1 and 2) will ride on the back of a flatbed truck furnished by Reeds towing. More information to follow!
