The Star Walk is a self-guided tour set up along the fitness trail at the entrance to the park, located in Harrison about 10 miles north of Chattanooga. Signage at the parking area explains the Star Walk and describes how to take advantage of it. Star Walkers move from station to station, where they can discover a wealth of information on a wide variety of astronomical topics. Incorporating local history, current issues and even a bit of classic literature, the Star Walk provides unique and unexpected insights into the role astronomy plays in everyday life. The stations themselves are located in specific places and orientations along the walk so that people can actually experience the phenomena for themselves at the appropriate times.

Over the course of the next 18 months, work proceeded to develop the Star Walk. The BAS already had a relationship with Harrison Bay State Park and when we approached them with our idea it was enthusiastically embraced. The park had a ready-made site: a half-mile looping walking path around a native grass field with a great view of the sky. With our site identified, the work of putting together our version of the Star Walk began.

The committee hiked the path at twilight, thinking about the Grossmugl Star Walk stations and what we wanted to present in our version. The Grossmugl walk touched on excellent topics and we incorporated many of them in our Star Walk. One goal of our project was to incorporate local history and folklore. We also wanted to reach out to other disciplines such as art, literature and ecology to show the breadth and depth to which astronomy is a part of the fabric of human civilization. We ended up with 13 ideas the ultimately became our Star Walk installation.

Select a category to learn more about the bombshells, cowboys, crooners and other entertainers who are honored on the walk. An interactive map then takes readers to the exact location of each star along the sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.

Star Walk is the most game-like of the star charting apps, with spectacular graphics, animation, and even sound effects. It can also teach you quite a bit aboutcelestial objects, though it won't always show you how they appear to the naked eye.

The user interface is simple and intuitive, though you have to play with it a little whileto figure out what it can do. Correlating the screen display with the actual skymight be a challenge for beginners.

Legendary hip-hop star, actor and poet Tupac Shakur posthumously received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday, honoring his many contributions to the arts, as well as his activism for racial equality.

The artist's sister, Sekyiwa "Set" Shakur received the star on Hollywood Boulevard, alongside radio host Kurt "Big Boy" Alexander, who emceed the event, and director Allen Hughes, who recently worked on a docuseries about Tupac's life.

"Today, we're not just honoring a star on the ground, but we are honoring the work and the passion that he's put into making his dreams come true," she said, getting emotional. "His heavenly star will shine a little brighter today. And once again, he has made us all extremely proud. We love you, Tupac."

Powell, who is currently writing a biography about the artist, said Shakur was an even better actor than rapper, arguing that the multi-talented star would have been in the ranks of Denzel Washington and Robert De Niro, had he lived and continued to act.

Ventimiglia was joined at the ceremony by This Is Us co-stars Jon Huertas and Justin Hartley, as well as This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman, and Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. Ventimiglia shared his appreciation for those who came out to support him, and a special message of gratitude for his "TV wife" Mandy Moore, who was unable to attend as she was busy directing an episode of This Is Us for the show's sixth and final season.
