Hi there! I don't think I've seen anyone post about this but I'm having a problem where whenever I open up the logitech camera settings window, it's too big to the point that it cuts off the settings at the bottom. I can't click or see the buttons or slider at the bottom. How can I make this smaller?

If you own a Logitech webcam like the popular C920, Brio, C922, or C930 and want more control over the zoom or positioning so you look better in virtual meetings, the Logitech Camera Settings app is something you will want to download and use. This app allows you to zoom in the camera and adjust other settings even while you are in a Zoom, Teams, Webex, or Google Meet meeting.

The Advanced tab in the Camera Settings app contains other settings you may want to adjust. I tend to leave these as the defaults but see if they might give you a better video in the meeting. I suggest you leave the autofocus and auto white balance on as manually adjusting these can be a lot of work during a meeting.

Logitech also offers an app called Capture, that gives you control over the webcam. It actually is an app to capture video but it also offers a virtual camera to Zoom and Teams. The adjustments in the app allow you to show a better video in the meeting. The problem for some people is that there is a slight lag between the video being shown through the app and the audio being captured by the mic. This delay can be very distracting for the attendees. The Camera Settings app controls the webcam directly without adding any delay so the experience for the attendees is consistently better.

I just installed a Logitech C920 HD Pro webcam. I went to the Logitech website, viewed a video on connecting the camera and was successful. Zoom and QuickTime recognized the camera. I then viewed a YouTube video describing how to manage the camera settings like zoom and focus. It said to download the Logitech Camera Settings software from the App Store. When I entered the name Logitech in the search field of the App Store there were no Logitech items listed. Several other videos mentioned Logitech software on the App Store. Did it get taken off of the App Store? Did search incorrectly? Apparently Logitech does not directly support Mac. I tried doing a chat from their website but was sent to a third party for their help. The third party website wanted my credit card information and was going to charge me $50/mo. after a brief trial period.

I have been trying to solve this issue for some time. This link worked for me!!! It's a beta version but so far, so good and now I can adjust the camera from this compatible app. I'm running OS 10.15.5 on an iMac.

My Mac Mini 2018 runs 10.15.4. As soon as I upgraded to that version my Logitech C920 stopped working. It intermittently crashes when I Skype, Zoom, or FaceTime (super problematic to have happening these days) and cannot be recognized by my system. I've tried various security/privacy settings to recognize the camera, they all work temporarily but eventually cut out at some point. Recently the camera was working ok, but then I removed the USB connection for my printer and the camera went off immediately. So crappy. I wish there was a reliable solution.

I did check first and I can only find a similar post from 2018, which is quite a while ago and obviously the world has gone down a very different route since then, with "working at home" for most people, and TEAMS is now a much more important to keeping in contact.

As a photographer and videographer, I have the knowledge on how to use a professional camera as a webcam, and set up external lighting, to get very good quality and correctly lit video on a call.

But that isn't always possible on a work PC as it might require installing software, it's just time consuming to set it all up and get it going, OR regular Joe doesn't have that knowledge or expensive equipment.

This is where a webcam comes in.Ā

In my case using a Logitech streamcam, which isn't bad. It's more convenient and plug and play, in most cases. But if using a webcam on a work device, you may still need to install software to edit settings.

Which is where you would hope that TEAMS might offer a solution, but it doesn't!

Will we ever get webcam settings, within TEAMS, to adjust the image quality and lighting?

It seems like it wouldn't be that complicated to add in for software which is primarily intended to be used with video broadcasts and webcam calls. It's a fundamental feature. Especially if you want your footage to look professional for clients or just during a team catch up.

This is a major omission. It really, really annoys me that there is no camera control in Teams. Not only that, but when you do open a control app such as Logitech Hub or Logitech Capture to configure it, Teams then resets it all again!

Zoom has much more control within the app, and things it doesn't control it doesn't reset them. Also Zoom has a really excellent chroma key setting to make your meetings look really professional. The Teams background is just rubbish by comparison with your head disappearing half the time.

One workaround is to use Skype for Business to adjust the settings before you start Teams and it somehow remembers them for the rest of the day. Most companies uninstall SfB though once they switched to Teams.

Another workaround would be to install the $1 app called "Webcam System Settings" which does the same thing and you can use it while Teams is running to adjust the settings.

But really, come on MS Teams devs - step up to at least look like you give a **bleep** about customer experience!

Today i got fed up again and decided to check if i could stop teams from resetting my Logitech G Hub settings. When going into settings > devices > camera, there is now a checkbox that (de)activates "Automatically adjust camera controls".Ā

After unchecking that box, teams no longer resets my cam settings. Feels like a huge victory :)

@SimonNeilScott I was very happy to find just what you are talking about here. However, I now notice that whatever I set the camera to disappears when I actually use the camera in Teams. For example, I increase the zoom in the settings and all looks good in the preview. Then I use teams and it is as if I hadn't zoomed at all. I found this thread when searching for a solution to this issue. Anyone have thoughts?

@rmartinĀ

For clarity, as I posted his ages ago and can't quite recall the conversation, are you referring to using the Elgator Facecam software?

If so, keep in mind, if you have the camera expanded, to view the Output in the Facecam software, it will not allow you to view the same output in TEAMs or any other application. You need to first close the window, in the Facecam software, showing you the output, to allow TEAMS to take control of the camera feed.

Is this what you meant?

I use a Logitech c922 camera with the LogiTune software to crop the camera to focus only on a part of my home office background. However, every time Zoom grabs camera access (including starting a meeting, turning the camera on and off, or even going into video preferences), it treats it as if I am using the default camera settings, ignoring the LogiTune setup.

I can restore the settings by going back to the LogiTune setup process (at which point Zoom recognizes the settings I put in beforehand), but I don't want to be showing my full background for the first 10-15 seconds of each meeting I have.

This is also *only* a Zoom problem -- all other applications that use the camera accept the LogiTune settings without issue. This is also an issue with alternate Logitech software (G Hub) that again works with all other programs.

This issue might be related to another unsolved problem with Logitech cameras not working in HD on new Macs ( -else-having-problem-with-Logitech-webcam-with-the-new/m-p...) since the solutions seem to be similar.

No fix. Frustrated. Waiting on Zoom to update, but it's a surprisingly long time coming given the popularity of the camera. Had wondered if it was an macOS thing (in case Zoom was forced to implement something Apple gave them) but it seems like every other vendor manages to make the camera work in their software.

Workaround is to open Zoom and start a call, then launch FaceTime or PhotoBooth. These then take over the camera, and the resulting stream (i.e. without the quality problem visible) is also pulled through into Zoom. Going the other way around (i.e. open FaceTime then open Zoom) will degrade the video in FaceTime. Also, remember to open FaceTime once you've actually connected to your call - opening it when you're still on Zoom's video preview screen will fix that video, but won't then apply to the call video itself.

**I am able to control my Logitech c922 camera (to zoom in/out, focus, brightness, contrast, etc) ONLY when I launch and manage the Zoom meeting by using updated Logi Tune software. That was a win and only took me 3 hour chatting with Logitech customer service to figure this workaround out. The old Camera Settings app does nothing.

However, Zoom needs to make an update on their end of things because when I join a Zoom that someone else manages, I have ZERO control over my camera. I will try the suggested FaceTime or PhotoBooth workaround (and post again if it works), but can't imagine that as a long term solution.

I'm experiencing the same issue - once I open the zoom call it ignores (logi tune / g hub) zoom settings. If I then open (logi time / g hub) and adjust the slider then zooms camera view is updated.
