Zone Alarm firewall from Zone Labs. Free is good. Use this for more user control than the Microsoft Windows firewall.

Spybot Search and Destroy spyware checker. Free is good.
AVG AntiVirus from Grisoft. Free is good. You may have to poke around the site to find the long term free version.
SpyChecker site provides many resources.
Trendmicro virus checker.
IESpell is a spellchecker that works inside Internet Explorer web forms.
