Community Impact

The Growing Together Project: SKC Facility is the development of a new childcare center for Stacyville Kids Care in Stacyville, serving families throughout Mitchell County.

This project focuses on constructing a modern, safe, and sustainable childcare facility designed to meet the growing need for childcare in our rural community. The new building will expand the number of childcare openings available, provide age-appropriate classrooms, and create a space that supports early childhood development.

Access to childcare is essential for families, employers, and the long-term sustainability of rural communities. In Mitchell County, the need for childcare continues to exceed available openings, making it difficult for parents to remain in the workforce and for local businesses to grow.

Project Update

First, thank you. The continued support from our community is what keeps this project moving forward, and we are grateful for everyone who believes in the future of childcare in Mitchell County.

We have received commitments through TIF funding, pledges, private donations, grants, and community fundraising efforts. These contributions are helping move us closer to our $1.35 million goal, and we continue to be amazed by the support of this community.

Our team continues working closely with the City of Stacyville, engineers, and architects as planning and development move forward. We remain committed to keeping the community informed as the project progresses.
