STACK STEP ("we", "us") is a casual tower-stacking game. We built it to collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, no sign-up and no analytics. This policy explains what the app handles and why.
The game saves the following only on your device, so your progress and preferences are kept between sessions:
Your best scores and highest floors for each theme, and the last theme you played
Your settings: sound, music, vibration and language
This information is not sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it.
If you are signed in to Apple Game Center (iPhone) or Google Play Games (Android), the game sends your highest floor for each theme to that service's leaderboard. To show rankings in the game, it reads the top scores, the players' public display names and your own rank from the service.
These services are run by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your Apple or Google account details. You can play without signing in, and you can manage your profile and visibility in your device's Game Center or Google Play Games settings.
To deliver bug fixes and content updates, the app checks for updates using Expo Application Services (EAS Update). These requests include technical details needed to deliver the right update: the app version, the platform and a random installation identifier created by the update system. Like any internet request, they also reveal your IP address to the update server. This information is used only to deliver updates. It is not used to identify you or for advertising.
The current version of STACK STEP shows no ads and does not track you across apps or websites. If we add ads in a future version, we will update this policy first. Where required, we will ask for your permission before any tracking. On iPhone this is done through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
We do not ask for your name, email, location, contacts, photos or other personal data.
We do not sell or share personal information.
We do not use analytics or crash-reporting tools.
STACK STEP is suitable for players of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no accounts, chat or user-generated content.
Local data: delete the app to remove all progress and settings.
Leaderboards: sign out of Game Center or Google Play Games, or manage your scores and profile in those services.
Questions or requests: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal data, for example under the GDPR or CCPA. Because we hold no personal data on our side, most requests are handled by deleting the app or through Apple or Google. Contact us anytime and we will help.
We may update this policy when the app changes. The effective date above shows the latest version. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
