How good is Las Vegas as a vacation place in the winter?

Las Vegas is known to be a dry town with a hotter-than-normal climate. When people discuss the best places to visit for a winter holiday, Vegas isn’t exactly on top of the list, Stacey L. Tokunaga explains.

However, there may be more to Las Vegas during the wintertime.

While summer typically has Las Vegas home to spring breakers and huge crowds who are looking to party, the winter months, not so much. This is why Las Vegas may be perfect as a winter destination. Crowds are smaller and less rowdy, and vacations can be more intimate.

There are entertaining things to do for everyone as well, such as watching a Cirque du Soleil show, visiting Downtown Las Vegas Events Center for a surprise event, and enjoying the Fremont Street Experience, Stacey L. Tokunaga adds.

On the second Sunday of winter, the Downtown Container Park has an event called Second Sunday (since it happens every month) where local artists perform and local merchants sell goods and food.

For gamblers, the casinos will always be open.

For adventure seekers who don’t want to go skiing in the winter, Las Vegas has a host of trails and parks, such as Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, and Mount Charleston. The weather will be cooler, but not freezing.

And finally, Stacey L. Tokunaga mentions that the cooler winter weather won’t make tourists too hot and sweaty and expend too much energy moving around the amazing town.
