Outreach & Getting Involved in the Greater Community

Outreach is so very important to us here at St. Thomas’. We are not an insular community, but open to the world around us and sensitive to its challenges. We like to think we are a part of the universal human impulse to care for those who need our help, both spiritually and practically. On the spiritual side, we offer two worship services on Sunday, at 8 am and 10 am as well as a small intimate service on Wednesday mornings at 10 am. We offer services in two retirement homes in the area as well as home visits, Bible study and educational programmes We are also pleased to share our space with two other worshipping groups: Logos Deliverance Ministries (Pentecostal) on Sunday afternoons and the Église Adventiste du Septième Jour on Saturday mornings.

On the practical side, we are in collaboration with The Depot, community food centre in the NDG area who use some of our property for a community garden. We have a small but thriving Food Bank and run The Clothesline where we offer clothing and household goods at modest prices. We are home for a number of community groups in our area, and we also support various outreach programmes in the national church. We are in partnership with a dedicated group of volunteers who work to sponsor refugees.

At St. Thomas’ we have a place for you whether you just want to experience a sacred space or want to get involved in making our community and our world a better place.
