Building a Stronger Future Through Housing Opportunity
The St. George Housing Affordability Initiative is a citizen-led effort dedicated to promoting practical, evidence-based housing policies that preserve affordability, encourage responsible growth, and strengthen the long-term prosperity of Washington County, Utah.
Housing affordability is one of the defining challenges facing rapidly growing communities across the country. In Washington County, rising home prices, increasing rental costs, and continued population growth have created significant challenges for families, first-time homebuyers, essential workers, employers, retirees, and future generations.
This initiative was created to encourage thoughtful public discussion by providing reliable research, transparent data, and balanced policy recommendations that support sustainable community growth while expanding housing opportunities for residents across a broad range of income levels.
Rather than focusing on political ideology or opposition to development, this initiative seeks to identify practical solutions that benefit the entire community through collaboration, accountability, and informed decision-making.
