ST. ALOYSIUS HS

Elthuruth, Thrissur, Kerala.

Overview

In 1913 His highness Rama Varma Thampuran, Maharaja of Cochin, laid foundation stone for this institution. Though it had been working as an elementary school in its beginning, the school was upgraded in 1933 as high school and later in 2000 as higher secondary.

In 1889 at Elthuruth, the place which was sanctified by the arrival of St Chavara Kuriakkose Elias, Rev. Fr. Gerard started an elementary school and a boarding house, which was later transformed as light house of wisdom for this entire world. The institution makes it tireless journey with out any hindrance through the field of education, because of the selfless action of CMI Fathers and the dedicative mentality of its faculties and office staff. The boundless co-operation from the part of management, parents and students is another reason for the institution’s growth.

Institution’s prime aim is not only to provide qualitative education but also to instill the vision of universal brother hood. The management neither compromises with the standard of teaching nor considers any orthodox notions in education. The old students of the institution, who are holding esteemed positions in the main stream of society, well prove the above said words. It is not surprising fact that many sportsmen, artists, actors, officers and even high court judges can be seen in the list of institution’s old students.

Elthuruth is surrounded by paddy fields, better known as 'Kole padam' by three sides, not too far from the heart of Thrissur city. It is a beautiful and wide area which spreads in forty acres of land in the lap of Manakkody back waters where the institution stands as an eternal monument of universal brother hood and secularism. More than thousand students are studying in St: Aloysius High School at present. Forty teaching and Ten non-teaching staffs are working hand in hand in the school under the manager Rev. Fr. Thomas Chakramakkil and head master Sri. Lawrence P.V.
