Most instructors would rather you did not cite the lecture notes because they likely created their handouts based on information adapted from books, journals or other such resources. Only use lecture notes if you cannot find the information elsewhere.

When citing a handout from class, first confirm that the information is not originally from a published source (book, journal article, web page, etc). Class handouts are frequently copied or adapted from other sources. Locate and cite the original source, if possible.

Your own notes from lectures are considered personal communications in APA style. They are cited within the text of your assignment, but do not get an entry on the References list, since they are not a published source.

Wilson says, From the counselor who laid out my courses perfectly to the final day, I experienced the best help, encouragement, and motivation a student could ask for. Higher education with Christian values is a cornerstone for a successful career. Along the way, I was a classmate of Bonnie Metcalf. A fine lady loved by everyone and an example of its never too late to go to college.

We've all had a chance to travel life's path in different ways: incredible stories to tell, fun adventures to reveal, milestones to share, and lessons learned. The updated Class Notes section on alumni.harvard.edu is the perfect vehicle to let all your classmates know what is new with you.

In addition to alumni.harvard.edu's Class Notes, class notes are published in a number of alumni publications across the University. Harvard Magazine no longer prints alumni notes for professional school alumni, unless they are also affiliated with Harvard College, Radcliffe College, or the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Harvard alumni wishing to submit class notes to more than one publication will need to contact each publication separately.

Class notes submitted by College alumni will be included in the Class Notes section of the online and print versions of Harvard Magazine. College alumni wishing to submit a note only to Harvard Magazine (and not alumni.harvard.edu or your class website or newsletter), please submit your note via Harvard Magazine's online class notes submission page, or email classnotes@harvard.edu.

The class notes section of the St. Lawrence magazine is one of the most widely read portions of the St. Lawrence magazine. It's where you read about the latest comings and goings in your class: marriages, births, new jobs, and travels.

Whatever approach you use to make notes during a class session, remember that you must still engage in actively learning those notes as soon as possible. Collecting even excellent notes for several weeks and expecting to learn them right before the exam is a recipe for failure. Learning, like exercising to stay fit, cannot be done all at once!

You may email your Class Notes photos to classnotephotos@elon.edu or mail them to: The Magazine of Elon, Office of University Communications, Campus Box 2030, Elon, NC 27244. Photos, especially those of marriages, unions and births, must include the alumna and/or alumnus in the image; individual images of alumni children will not be published. We reserve the right to determine the quality of your images. Poor quality images will not be used. Photographs will not be returned, so please send duplicates. Please be sure to include a note identifying alumni in each photo.

Keep fellow classmates up to date with what's been happening in your life by emailing class notes to your class secretary. You can also submit them to the Bulletin directly at classnotes@swarthmore.edu. If you would like to volunteer to become a class secretary, please contact Heidi Hormel at hhormel1@swarthmore.edu.
