Theme
It is undeniable that Military Medicine was relevant to the evolution of public health, at a national and international level. In Portugal, historical moments as relevant as the military campaigns of the Great War or the Colonial War contributed to this, as they are more notable than others, geographically and chronologically more distant and, as such, considerably less known.
This seminar aims to encourage a broader discussion of the role of Military Health, analyzing the institutions that took part in it, as well as its actors. And to comprehensively rethink its echoes and reflections in society in general, observing them through the lens of the most recent historiographical perspectives, through the contribution of renowned experts and researchers who will contribute to the debate on the importance of Military Medicine, without thematic, temporal or geographical restrictions.
