Following the great success of the first Summer School of Sign Language Studies in Berlin, we are delighted to invite you to the 2nd Summer School of Sign Language Studies, hosted by Tallinn University in Tallinn, Estonia.
This Summer School offers a vibrant international meeting place for upper-level BA, MA, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers who are eager to engage with cutting-edge research in sign language studies. Over five inspiring days, participants will connect with peers and early-career researchers while exploring a wide range of contemporary topics in the field.
Our goal is to foster an open, inclusive, and dynamic academic environment through lectures, hands-on workshops, panel discussions, and poster sessions. The programme features five lectures presenting diverse methodological approaches to sign language research, complemented by poster presentations where participants can showcase their own work and ongoing projects.
Beyond the academic programme, the Summer School places strong emphasis on networking and exchange in International Sign Language, creating space for meaningful dialogue and collaboration. A one-day excursion in Tallinn will further enrich the experience by combining academic discussion with cultural exploration.
Join us in Tallinn for an inspiring week of learning, discussion, and community-building in sign language studies.
The registration deadline for the Summer School is 15 June 2026.
