TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT - 5yrs and Up

To ensure the smooth running, safe and enjoyable experience by all at Simone's School of Performing Arts, below you will find our Code of Conduct. 

We are open to feedback, so if any of the requirements outlined below are unclear or concerning, please give us a call to discuss further. 

Following a formal meeting, we do reserve the right to dismiss or take disciplinary action on any student or parent who breach our studio's code of conduct. 

1. FEES

1.1  Families who do not comply with their fee or costume payment obligations will be charged a late fee, and/or excluded from performances. External debt collection may occur when fees remain overdue and this will be at the expense of the client. Costume expenses are the responsibility of the parent, therefore costumes will not be issued to students with unpaid class fees. 

Fees are invoiced termly (10 weeks)

You can either pay by the term (10 weeks) or fortnightly.  

1.2  If fees are outstanding, a 10% fee charge will occur on your account on top of the outstanding balance.

1.3  All lessons are to be paid for unless specified by the director.

1.4  No lessons will be made up in the case of a students absence. If the school is unable to run a class on the normal day, the class will be rescheduled or an alternate class will be made available. Preschool students may attend another scheduled day to make up for missed classes.

1.5 Fees may be adjusted if a student is unable to attend lessons for a substantial amount of time due to injury/illness at the discretion of management

1.6 If you wish to take off a class or add a class. (due to change of mind). This must be put in written form and emailed to the following email address justinmann040@gmail.com Your account will be adjusted at the beginning of each fortnight.

1.7 Any student asked to leave the studio will not be entitled to a refund of fees previously paid.

1.8  If a payment fails a dishonour fee will be charge to your account by your bank.

1.9 End of year ShowCase/Concert costumes are non-refundable. No refunds will be given for any costumes from term 2 and onwards.

This will cover the hiring of costumes - 

You will be charged $10 a Term (a term is 10 weeks, so a $1 a week) per routine.

This will total to $40.

This will cover you if you are hiring your costume - This fee is payable throughout the year with the last payment being in week 1 of term 4.

If your class is purchasing their costume/s you will be eligible to pay the balance in term 4's invoice. 

Please understand hired or purchased costume/s are not the decision of the client.  They are carefully and decided by the Director of company. 

Ballet costumes are invoiced in full (term 4).  This does not included Unicorn Ballet preschool costume/s.

1.10 Enrolment Fee

There will be an annual non-refundable registration fee of:

This will cover admin fees and intellectual property fees for music and insurance. 


The enrolment fee must be paid at the time of enrolment.

1.11 Any class having less than (6) registered students, may be cancelled at Directors discretion.  Any fees paid for classes not attended will be refunded or transferred to another class. Please note classes that have been already taken will not be refunded. 

1.12 All students participating in our end of year ShowCase/Concert performance will need to pay a ShowCase/Concert Package fee.  This is payable in Block 2 of Term 3.  All effort by our staff is made to keep this cost down to a minimum, details will be given out in term 3/ early term 4.

This ShowCase/Concert Package fee includes - Rehearsal Fee, Memorable Medallion, Digital Download of ShowCase/Concert Video and 1 x Digital Download Photo from Photo Day Photo.

This is approximately around - $60

Preschool students ShowCase/Concert performance fee is $15 which includes - Minders for concert and Memorable medallion. 

1.13 If you decide to leave the studio you will not be entitled to a refund of your class fees and costumes fees that have been paid.  This is the law stated by the NSW Department of Fair Trading. 

1.14 We are a NSW Active Kids and Creative Kids provider, we accept NSW Service vouchers as payment on class fees. 

1.15 Extra rehearsals for performance students. If there is an extra rehearsal outside the schedule times for a performance team there will be a fee caped at $10 per rehearsal.

2 CONTACT DETAILS

2.1 Please notify Simone's School of Performing Arts if there are any changes to your contact details, including address, phone number and email.  This is essential to maintain positive communication between the studio and family.

ATTENDANCE

3.1 Please contact admin on 0424 412 974 or email info@simones.com.au if your child/children are to be absent.

3.2 Please give notice if your child is going on holidays or will be away for two (2) weeks or more.

CONDUCT

4.1 Students and parents are expected to behave responsibly and courteously at all times.

4.2 Students and parents are expected to be respectful to teachers and other students at all times.


4.3 Quietness (in waiting area's) is to be respectful and courteous of the duration of class. This is to ensure the full benefit of your child/children experience at SSOPA.

4.4  Students and parents are expected to be supportive of each others and we will not tolerate any incident involving bad sportsmanship, bullying, disrespect towards others or any other negativity.  This may resort to expulsion from the studio. 

4.5 Students are to be aware that they are representing Simone’s School of Performing Arts at all times. Students should be well presented and studio jacket must be worn at all dance competitions/eisteddfods and events.

4.6 No classes (including private lessons) or teachers are to be disturbed unless it is an emergency. Parents are not to approach teachers or students during class and if messages or food/drink/medication needs to be passed on to a student, it must be done through a

Simone’s School of Performing Arts staff member. All parents must wait in the waiting areas or outside of the studios until classes have been dismissed.

4.7 Bullying or bad behaviour from a student and/on their families at the studio, social media or at any event representing Simone's School of Performing Arts will NOT be tolerated.  Disciplinary measure will be taken and can result in expelled or suspended from entering studio doors for a period of time. Our studio is a place of learning for our students and not a place for negativity, gossip and bad behaviour.  We have a responsibility to ensure all students, their families and our teachers feel safe and welcome, we take that responsibility very seriously.

4.8 No student is permitted, without written permission of the Directors, to attend another dance school whist they are attending Simone’s School of Performing Arts. This will only be permitted if Simone’s School of Performing Arts does not provide a certain class.


5. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

5.1 I give permission for my child to be photographed and / or videoed whilst participating in Simone’s School of Performing Arts activities and I consent to these photos / videos being used for publicity purposes.

6. UNIFORM AND GROOMING

6.1 Uniform to be adhered to at all times (see Uniform Requirements in your Welcome Booklet or Inquiry Booklet)

7. PERFORMANCES

7.1 Choreography, costuming and studio policies remain the intellectual property of Simone’s School of Performing Arts and may not be reproduced or sold by any students, parents or staff without permission of the Directors.

7.2 Students may be invited into our Performance/Elite classes through out the year. 

8. DUTY OF CARE - SECURITY

8.1 The studio offers Duty of Care to all students in the studio, however we cannot be responsible for the student after they have left studio premises. 

8.2 No child is to wait outside of the studio, day or night. If parents are not at the studio on time, the student is to wait inside the studio, and the parent must come inside to collect the student when they arrive.

8.3  We are unable to take responsibility for students before or after their scheduled classes and it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure their child is picked up and dropped off on time. In the case of an emergency or unavoidable delay, please contact the studio immediately to inform us on duty of the situation and will have the responsibility to keep your child calm and safe until they are picked up.

8.4  We ask that all students are extremely cautious and mindful of moving vehicles while coming and going to and from the studio.  Younger students MUST be accompanied with adult.  

9. CHOREOGRAPHY

9.1  The copyright of all choreography, including solos, duos, groups and others, is owned by Simone’s School of Performing Arts. Students and parents do not own any rights to choreography and therefore do not have permission to perform any dance outside of the studio without the Director’s consent.

9.2  Any student leaving the studio does not have permission to perform any dance taught or choreographed at Simone’s School of Performing Arts. 

10. GROUP COSTUMES

10.1 Simone’s School of Performing Arts has the right to purchase back any group costumes within the first two years of purchase. 12-month-old costumes or less will have a value of 10% less than original purchase price to vendor upon resale. Less than 2 years old will have a value of 20% less than original purchase price to vendor upon resale. Over 2 years old – value and resale price will be set by director, Simone Mann of Simone’s School of Performing Arts, on an individual basis. The price will be based upon age of the costume and condition of the costume, taking into consideration any repairs or remodelling that the costume may need to regain performance level to be wearable. If you have purchased a second-hand costume and worn it for your first year this is still to the value of how old the costume is. If any dry cleaning is needed this will also be deducted of the price to cover this cost.

10.2 Simone’s School of Performing Arts requests that any student wishing to sell a group costume, regardless of the age of the costume, offer the costume to the studio before selling privately.

10.3 All hired costumes are to be returned to the studio after each performance.

10.4 If a student is unavailable for a group performance and they own the group costume, the group costume remains property of the studio and must be made available for other students to wear to fill the absent student’s spot. No payment will be given due to the student being unavailable.

10.5 All costume invoices must be paid prior to each performance. Students will be refused participation in performances if invoices are not paid in full. Students will be unable to perform in end of year Show Case performances if costume invoices and studio fees are not paid in full.

10.6 Hired costumes are to be kept in good condition. Any damage to costumes will incur a fee. In an event that the costume is unusable and needs to be replaced, students will be liable to pay the full original purchase cost of costume.

11. EXAMINATIONS

11.1 Students committing to examinations are responsible for any costs incurred by the Royal Academy of Dance or Glenn Wood Tap syllabus.

11.2 Students wanting to take classical exams must attend two classes of the same grade a week. If two classes cannot be attended per week, the classical teacher may decide if the student can/will be ready to take the examination.

11.3 Students taking their RAD Classical Ballet exam must attend the mock exam sent out in the winter holidays or spring holidays. (Winter Intensive Workshop or Spring Intensive Workshop).

11.4 Students taking their RAD Classical Ballet exams will require the correct ballet leotard, ballet shoes, ballet tights, character skirt and shoes. Please purchase the correct ballet attire from the studio. The studio does not sell demi pointes or pointe shoes.

12. EXCLUSIVITY OF ENROLMENT

12.1  All bookings for private lessons must go through the reception office 0424 412 974. Payment for private lessons must be paid only through the studio and not to the private lesson teacher. No client is to directly contact a teacher to organise their private lesson.  All messaging to a teacher must be done through our app - SSOPA Band App in a private chat which is to include the following people - The teacher, Justin Mann and the Director - Simone Mann under Simone's School of Performing Arts.

12.2 All private lesson monies must be paid on time - prior or up to the day of the private lesson.

12.3 All cancellations / rescheduling of private lessons must be through the main studio office to the studio manager - Justin Mann - 0424 412 974.

12.4 All missed private lessons need to be paid for in full.  If a private lesson teacher cancels the private lesson this will be made up, not refunded.

12.5 Private lesson time is valuable and scarce.  If you need to change your set private lesson time to another time slot, this can only be done at the beginning of each term not mid term.  Please contact Justin our studio manager at the beginning or prior to the beginning of the term on 0424 412 974
