Fall Teacher/Staff Purchase Requests over $500
Process:
We will have one main grant cycle this fall. The amount to be granted will depend on the success of our Fall Fair Fundraiser.
Schedule:
DUE TO our Budget meeting being in October this year, and then Parent/Teacher conferences, we have pushed back the grant cycle 2 weeks. New dates are:
Sept 29 - October 24: Grant applications accepted from SSMS teachers and staff via this form.
Oct 25 to 29: Review / approval from SSMS Admin / PIC
Oct 30 to Nov 5: Voting by SSMS community
Nov 7: Grants announced. Grant recipients will make their purchase directly, and submit for reimbursement, or work with PIC to purchase.
Parents, we want your input! Stay tuned for an email with all of the grant requests so that you can vote on how this money gets spent.
As this money is collected and held at Yampa Valley Community Foundation (YVCF), there are certain parameters we must meet to allocate the funds:
Grant Funding Requests should support, enhance and develop 21st Century Skills, broadly defined as:
Critical Thinking
Creativity and Innovation
Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution
Effective Use of Information, Media and Technology
Oral and Written Communications
Leadership and Collaboration
Organization Skills
Global Awareness
Ongoing Teacher/Staff Purchase Requests under $500
Please submit this form.
These requests will be reviewed by SSMS Administration and considered once a month at the PIC meeting, unless there is an urgent request for some reason.
There is a budget line item for these purchases, so be aware that we may run out of money for requests towards the end of the year.
Purchases must be made within 45 days or the money will be recycled (unless specifically approved for a future event).
Items directly impacting students; Student-led Grants & activities. Student experiences. Student Awards (Battle of books, CARE, etc.)
If approved, Staff can assist to make approved purchases through the front office, or with our help. If you must purchase the item independently, please ensure your receipts are submitted for reimbursement to steamboatmiddleschoolpic@gmail.com. All funds must be spent within 45 days unless otherwise approved or the funds may be reallocated.
